The skies darken and the winds howl like restless spirits upon the open sea. I had hoped we’d chart our course through today's miles together, but the storm brews fierce and unforgiving.

To set sail in such peril would be folly — lightning and torrents make poor running mates. So, we’ll stay ashore this morn, safe in harbor, and let the tempest rage itself out.
