NYC Marathon Training

Hello! I’m currently using the app to train for the New York City Marathon and have it set to 4 runs per week. I know that running more days doesn’t necessarily equate to better performance, but I’m wondering if it might be beneficial to increase to 5 runs per week later in the training. I know I can manually change that mid-plan, but does the app also automatically suggest or adjust the number of runs (or increase the mileage) based on my scores?

I’m asking because last year was my first marathon, and I used a generic online plan that wasn’t personalized. If I remember correctly, it had higher overall mileage so I’m still unsure whether that worked well for me or if a lower-mileage plan (like the one I’m doing now) might actually be better for my body, since it could allow for more rest and recovery.

Just trying to understand what’s best for my progress. Thanks so much for any insight!
