strain recovery!? ❤️‍🩹 (groin lol)

hi!!! i had a groin strain surface after my long run last week! my coach and PT think it could be due to overuse without any strength training to support my increase in mileage (oops😭) 
my PT gave me some groin specific exercises to do but i was wondering if anyone has a similar experience or tips !? it still hurts pretty bad to run even after taking a week off! my first half is in a month so im just worried about the timing of it all 😅❤️‍🩹 thank you !!!
