Half marathon in 2 weeks but I’m sick
Hi!! So I’m supposed to run the Fred lebow half marathon on Jan 28 in two weeks. I’m at the end of my training block and I’m currently tapering. Two days ago I felt an itch in my throat and yesterday I woke up with a full blown stuffy and runny nose. I didn’t workout those two days. Today I woke up with worse conditions and slowly developed some mild aches and chills. I did run before I felt the aches. I did a slow 30 min run since it was my easy day. I felt pretty anxious and thought I should try to get in slow miles. But as the day progressed I’ve noticed I’m short of breath and my heart rate is actually pretty high when I’m just sitting. I don’t know what to really do training wise. This is what my last two weeks of training that was planned:
Monday 1/15 rest
Tue 1/16 easy 3 miles
Wed 1/17 38 min speed workout
Thur 1/18 easy 3 miles
Fri 1/19 easy- moderate 30 min run OR 28 min speed workout
Sat 1/20 7-8 mile long run
Sun 1/21 rest
Mon 1/22 easy 30 min run
Tue 1/23 20 min speed
Wed 1/24 rest
Thur 1/25 25 min easy recov run
Fri 1/26 rest
Saturday 1/27 easy 2 -3 mile shakeout
Sun 1/28 race
