Endorphins Boston Long Run Update
Hey Boston Fam,
If you’ve joined us at any of our long runs so far in 2024, you’ve probably heard me say something along the lines of: “Run the long run that’s right for you.” I absolutely love long runs, its my favorite of all the different runs, but I stress that a long run looks different for all of us. We may be at different levels of fitness, training for different races, or comfortable at different paces. What matters is sharing in the positivity and happiness that we get from crushing miles together- it’s why I love our long runs so much.
We are working towards providing a run where every single runner in Boston can show up and run the long run that’s right for them. To that point, starting this Saturday (3/2), we will introduce pace groups for our long run. Saturday’s run will start as we always do- hanging out at Heartbreak and a group introduction and picture. From there, we will break out into 3 distinct pace groups: 9:00min/mi, 10:00min/mi and 11:00min/mi. Each group will have at least one Pace Group Captain, who knows the route and will guide you through your long run. If you aren’t sure which pace group is right for you, the 10:00min/mi will best match our long runs to date.
This is the first step towards a more flexible long run to meet your training needs: with plenty of variety in both pace and distance. Your feedback will be so critical as the format of this run continues to evolve. Please be sure to let us know what you like or don’t like about the way this run goes.
Lastly… the weather for Saturday looks so damn spectacular. I’m so excited to revel in some beautiful spring temps and try out this new format for long runs together.
See you Saturday,
Dan, Delaney and Elizabeth 💙⚡
