Knee/Meniscus Pain at start of runs

CONTEXT: I’m getting ready to run the LA Marathon (March 17th) and this will be my fourth marathon. I’ve been following the Pfitzinger training plan and have been putting in 40-50mi/week the last 3 months. I did a slower pace marathon ( for training) 2.5 weeks ago followed by 40 miles in three days a week later. Since then I’ve noticed achy pain in both knees’ meniscus area for the first 2-3 miles of my runs and at the start of some workouts. The pain is not sharp nor is it causing me to stop, but I’ve found it helpful to start things a bit slower to help me warm up.

QUESTION: I get that it’s highly likely I just need good rest/recovery, but I also want to make sure I’m not going to destroy myself. Either way, I’m still going to run LAM. So, is there anything specific you’d recommend I focus on between now and then
