What’s up Endorphins! Hope everyone is doing well! My name is Kenny Moll and I’m new to NYC, originally from Chicago. My favorite place to run definitely has to be the Chicago Lakefront but the longer I live here, the more Central Park is making me rethink that pick. I wanted to post in here because after joining Endorphins for a shakeout run before the NYC Half-Marathon a couple weeks ago, I got to see how cool and inclusive this community was. I’m definitely planning on coming out for more runs with Endorphins in the future and just wanted to tell everyone about a cool project I’m attempting to complete.

This summer, from June 9th-June 15th, I will be running 7 marathons in 7 days around Central Park to raise money and spread awareness about climate change. We’re calling it “A Week for the World.” I attempted this last summer along Chicago’s Lakefront but unfortunately had to cancel two of the marathons due to extreme air pollution. This summer, I’m not letting anything stop me in completing this goal.

If any of you find this interesting or want to join for some miles during the event, please come out, I could use the support! Each day will start at 6 AM at Columbus Circle and I plan to be done every morning at about 11:00. We’ll have an aid station set up so I can refuel after each lap which will be stocked with beverages and snacks for anyone who comes out. We’ll also have members from different local climate justice coalitions come out each day and speak about the work they do and how to get involved if you’re interested!

This project is all-inclusive and the goal is to get as many people to come out, enjoy New York’s most iconic public park and run together for a collective goal! I’ll link the project website, my Strava and the project instagram below so you can check it out, I’ll be posting a lot more about the project as we get closer. Please let anyone else know as well, the more the merrier.

Happy running,

- Kenny
