FINALLY: March CV Results
Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m sure we’ll see a lot of you at our happy hour run tonight. If you haven’t already, you can check out the details and RSVP here. We’ve got an exciting announcement to make, you’re not going to want to miss it 👀.
Things got crazy in April, there’s no surprise there. I’m still buzzing from Boston Marathon weekend, I hope you all are too. Now that we’ve had some time to catch our breath, we want to share the results from the Community Vote we conducted last month. If you aren’t familiar, Endorphins has always been a community-led group. It’s critical that this community shapes and defines how our runs and events work- we want to provide the best experience for all of you. This specific vote was focused on our long runs and we’re excited to share those results here:
Question 1: Long run distance.
A strong majority likes the distances we’ve been rocking with between 10-12mi. We’ll stick with that for now. We are also currently thinking of ways to offer distance options as we get into the summer, this tends to be the time when lots of our community is ramping up for fall races, but more to come on that later
Question 2: Fuel stop midrun?
This one was closer, but the “no fuel stop” option won out. Again, another topic to reconsider in the summer with those temps.
Question 3: Long run routes
Pretty clear outcome here, we’ll keep rocking with our varying routes each week
Question 4: Long run paces
This was the one I was most excited to see the results of. Rolling out pace groups over the last few months has been challenging, but ultimately rewarding. We want to ensure that everyone can show up on Saturday morning and run the long run that’s right for them, and having pace groups helps achieve that. Based on the turnout from our long runs so far, and the data from this vote, it is our goal to have pace groups between 9 min/mi - 11min/mi at each of our long runs moving forward. We would also love to expand that as our long runs continue to grow.
One more note: Pace group captains
One way to ensure that we can offer multiple pace groups every long run is by having a great team of pace group captains to help lead them. Multiple people expressed interest on the vote, but due to the (designed) anonymity of the form, I can’t tell who. Please reach out if this is something you’re interested in!
That’s all we got. Long runs remain my favorite time of the week, and you all are the reason why. I can’t wait to see you all out there 💙⚡
Best,
Dan & Delaney & Elizabeth &
