Pain in left side of right knee

Hi Everyone,

I have a sharp in the left side of my right knee during loading. It started during my easy pace run on Sunday (not sure why but it might have something to do with the gradient of the road and potholes etc) but the pain was relatively mild, a 6/10. Yesterday, I tried to run 4 miles and the first mile the pain was quite sharp, around an 8/10. It’s only on one side of my knee. The pain comes up only when it’s being loaded, so running, going up stairs or doing squats.

I’m able to bend my knees to crouch down, sit cross legged and even sit in a yoga pose with my butt resting on my calves/shins for example.

I don’t want to give the exact anatomical region where I’m feeling pain as it might be misleading from the original source but the pain is around the medial ligament side.

I’m planning to strengthen my quads and calves to distribute the load better and reduce pain in the area. Do you have any suggestions on recovery time, specific exercises or stretches I could do or what the issue itself is? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if you’d like more information as well.

I’m usually a push through the pain kinda person but want to avoid that haha.

Thank you.
