Hey everyone! My name is Alec. I’m from North Carolina and moved to Uptown Dallas a little over 2 years ago for the military. I found myself really falling in love with long distance running/walking in college/Army and just yesterday finished my farthest race (53 miles in 20 hours with a 35lb ruck). When it comes to running I have found myself lately only making time for it when needed by my job. I hope that by running with y’all that I can get back to loving the sport. My goal is to be able complete a 5-miler in under 32 minutes.
Outside of running I am an avid scuba diver, rock climber, and kayaker; really anything that gets me outdoors so if you have recommendations for any of those activities around here let me know! Really look forward to getting out on the trail with y’all!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Favorite place to run:
-Katy Trail (super convenient being next door and a post run beer at Ice House is a nice incentive)
Upcoming races:
-None (YET)
Previous races:
-Carry The Load 20 Hour Memorial Day Ruck (86k)
-City of Oaks Marathon (Half/10/5k)
-Bataan Memorial Marathon Ruck
-Fort Bragg 10 Miler
Funny memory:
In college I took part in the Krispy Kreme Challange, a charity race hosted by NC State with the proceeds going to our local children’s hospital. The objective is to run from campus to the downtown Krispy Kreme 2.5 miles away, eat a dozen glazed donuts, and run back to the start point. To save time, I attempted to eat my donuts on the route back, and managed to not notice a route cone in front of me. To this day there is still a photo of me floating around campus mid trip with donuts flying in the air.
