Runner’s Knee
Hey PTs!
Last week, I gradually developed pain in my knee that is now affecting my gait and is maybe a 4/10 pain when I run (as of my last run 4 days ago). I’d assume it’s from overtraining - although I’ve been increasing my mileage slowly, I’ve been doing more speed work and cycling a lot more which I think is the cause of the pain.
I’ve rested it for a couple days and it does feel marginally better, but I don’t want my training to fall behind - I have a tri in 4 weeks, and then the Chi marathon in 12. Do I have to wait until I feel 100% to start running again, or can I run but just take it easy? Let me know what next steps you recommend for me to stay healthy.
