Dallas Weekly Announcement (8/11)

Hey fam,

I hope you all are feeling inspired to keep going with your training after watching all the Olympic athletes compete over the last couple of weeks!!! If you didn’t see the men’s 1500m, men’s 10,000, women’s 4×4, or the women’s marathon finishes, go google them for some added fuel to your runs this week!!!

BMW DALLAS MARATHON TRAINING - Week 3 “Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone”

This week’s workout is the same as week 1 of training - Take note of the difference you feel between this run from the first time you completed it! Start with a 30 min warm up followed by 6 reps of 200 meters @ 8/10 effort with a 200 m jog between each rep. We will not have an official workout in Circle, however, if this is something you would benefit from, please comment below. We would love for this community to train together as frequently as possible!

    • We won’t be hosting a long run this day (9/21) to encourage as many of our Endorphriends (see what we did there😉) to register for this race. It’s a great way to practice all things “race day” from packet pick up to on course nutrition/hydration!!! If you’re following along with our training plan for the Dallas Half/Full marathon, mileage for 9/21 will be 6 (half) and 9 (full) miles. We recommend everyone signs up for the “quarter” marathon. Then, those of you training for the full can tack on an extra 3 miles as a group either before or after the race. Post race, you’ll get some of the best running swag around PLUS full access to one of Dallas’s best spots, the Dallas Arboretum!!!

  • November 28th | Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot (5K or 8 Mile)

    • Registration is now open. 

  • December 15th | BMW Dallas Marathon Festival (Mile, 5K or 8K, Half or Full Marathon)

    • The hometown race!!! Whether you’re tackling your first race ever, new distance, are a Dallas Marathon veteran, or plan to bring the vibes in our cheer zone, we’re setting all sights on the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival this December🤸‍♀️🎉

    • FUN NEWS… 🥁 This month, we’re raffling off one free entry for either the 5K or EIGHT K on Saturday AND one free entry for either the Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday!!!

      • You will get one entry into the raffle for EVERY run you attend this August. There are 9 more runs on the calendar for August!!! This means 9 more options to have your name entered into the raffle!!!

      • We will announce the winners at our long run on August 31st!!!

      • Note: If you have already registered, we sadly cannot give you a refund for this year’s race. However, should you win, you can choose to apply the free entry to next year’s race!

    • More details to come on this weekend, but for now, one thing you can plan on is our shake out run on December 14th at 10AM!!!

RUNS + HANGS THIS WEEK (8/12 - 8/17)

Please RSVP to our runs as frequently as you can! While this isn’t required, it is extremely helpful for us as City Leads. We often use RSVPs in Circle to help us assess what kind of support we might need for each particular run (ex: pace leads on Saturdays). 

  • Endorphins Monday | 5:30 AM at Fairgrounds Coffee (4 miles)

    • Post run hang at Fairgrounds Coffee

  • Wednesday Ice Cream Run | 7:00 PM at Peace Plaza in Grapevine

    • Post run hang at Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream

  • Thursday Lazy River Run | 6:00 PM at Frisco Roughriders Field

    • Post run hang at the baseball game in the lazy river

    • Tickets are required - if you can’t make the run, join us for the game!

  • Saturday Long Run | 6:30 AM at Fleet Feet (2 mile walk; 4 & 9 mile runs)

    • Post run hang either Starbucks in Mockingbird Station or at Shug’s Bagels!
