Dallas Weekly Announcement (8/18) + Community Vote #3!!
Happy Sunday! Can’t wait for another week running with y'all. If you’re new here - welcome!!! We’re so glad you’re here. If you haven’t already, hop over to our Introduce Yourself page so we can give you a warm welcome.
The week ahead: Community Vote #3 is coming tomorrow. Come out and run Monday morning, Wednesday evening, and Saturday morning as we enter into Week 4 of Dallas Marathon and Half Marathon training!
COMMUNITY VOTE #3
Community is at the heart of everything we do. It is critical that the community shapes and defines how our runs and events work - we want to provide the best experience for all of you. One way we do this is by posting community votes to ensure decisions are made with community input.
With fall marathon training kicking off, we want to see how we as City Leads can best support your training. Please leave your honest feedback, and share any ideas you might have as we are constantly looking to improve.
The form will be open tomorrow morning and close on Saturday, August 24th at noon (12PM CST). Once it closes, we will post the results, take the feedback, and run with it (literally and figuratively).
BMW DALLAS MARATHON TRAINING - Week 4 “The Base Is Set”

This week’s workout is as follows: Start with a warm up of about 30 minutes. Then, hit 3-4 reps of 300 meters at 10k-5k pace, with a 1 minute rest in between each rep. You’ll repeat this 5 times! Give yourself a 3 min recovery in between each set. We will not have an official workout in Circle, however, if this is something you would benefit from, please comment below. We would love for this community to train together as frequently as possible!

We won’t be hosting a long run this day (9/21) to encourage as many of our ya’ll to register for this race. It’s a great way to practice all things “race day” from packet pick up to on course nutrition/hydration. If you’re following along with our training plan for the Dallas Half/Full marathon, mileage for 9/21 will be 6 (half) and 9 (full) miles. We recommend everyone signs up for the “quarter” marathon. Then, those of you training for the full can tack on an extra 3 miles as a group either before or after the race. Post race, you’ll get some of the best running swag around plus access to the Dallas Arboretum!
November 28th | Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot (5K or 8 Mile)

December 15th | BMW Dallas Marathon Festival (Mile, 5K or 8K, Half or Full Marathon)
The one we are all excited for!!! Whether you’re tackling your first race, are a Dallas Marathon veteran, or plan to bring the vibes in our cheer zone, we’re setting all sights on the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival this December🤸♀️🎉
FUN NEWS… 🥁 This month, we’re raffling off one free entry for either the 5K or EIGHT K on Saturday AND one free entry for either the Marathon or Half Marathon on Sunday!!!
You will get one entry into the raffle for EVERY run you attend this August. There are 9 more runs on the calendar for August!!! This means 9 more options to have your name entered into the raffle!!!
We will announce the winners at our long run on August 31st!!!
Note: If you have already registered, we sadly cannot give you a refund for this year’s race. However, should you win, you can choose to apply the free entry to next year’s race!
More details to come on this weekend, but for now, one thing you can plan on is our shake out run on December 14th at 10AM!

Please RSVP to our runs as frequently as you can! While this isn’t required, it is extremely helpful for us as City Leads. We often use RSVPs in Circle to help us assess what kind of support we might need for each particular run (ex: pace leads on Saturdays).

Post run hang in the parking lot at Pull Through. If you want, bring your lawn chairs and stay a while.
