Gels - marathon fuelling
Targeting 60g of carbs per hour for my upcoming marathon.
Noticing certain gels have very different ratio of Carbs to Total sugars, which is surprising. Thought it would be ~100%.
Do I need to think about this discrepancy in my fuelling strategy? Just bought precision hydration PF gels which is 30g carbs, but only 12g sugars vs. Maurten which is 25g carbs, 25g sugars
Obviously sugar is a carbohydrate, but in the context of fuelling a race, is what is labelled ‘sugar’ the most bio available? Or it doesn’t matter? Thank you!
