Fundraising for cancer research

Hi Philly Endorphins!

I'm excited—and a bit nervous—to be running my first marathon, the Philadelphia Marathon. I am also fundraising for the marathon’s primary charity— The American Association for Cancer Research.

Formerly, I worked as a sarcoma nurse at Penn and in 2022, I was diagnosed and treated for a thigh sarcoma.

Fast forward to 2024; I’m happy to announce that I am not only cancer-free, but since my cancer surgery, I have completed two half marathons, two Broad Street 10-milers, and have spent hundreds of miles on feet.

My first run with endorphins was in January and after a hiatus, came back a few months ago to start running with the Saturday long run 12 mile pace group. (Shout out to pace leader @Samantha Leib who was the first person to donate to my fundraising site!)

As a private person, few people know about my diagnosis, so sharing this story is a big step in itself. Any support would mean the world to me and would help fund life-saving cancer research.

Thank you.
