Hello! My name is Danielle, I’m based out of Washington DC and love running in Rock Creek Park! I’d like to start training up to break my marathon PR. I’m signed up for a turkey trot and the MCM next year for the 50th anniversary, but I’m thinking about a long distance spring race too (aside from Cherry Blossom)! My last big race was the Vermont City Marathon in June.

A great running memory of mine is when I was out west on vacation in Montana and went for a run, we were staying at a lodge that had this huge pack of dogs and one of them, a border collie named Boudain, peeled off and ran with me for 10 miles through farmland. Every time we passed a herd of sheep he would split off from me, herd them all away from the road, and then catch back up. This happened three or four times. When we got back, I asked the owner of the lodge what she did to train him and she looked at me like I was crazy and said “nothing, he just likes to run.” Touché.
