DALLAS MARATHON WEEKEND INFORMATION
HAPPY RACE WEEKEND!!! You’ve all put in the training this fall. Now, it’s time to LEAN IN (iykyk) to that training and FULL SEND on Sunday!!!
We’ve gotten several questions on various logistics for this weekend, so we’re making one huge post covering it all. If you have a question that wasn’t fully answered, drop it in the comments - we want to make sure everyone feels prepared ahead of a busy weekend!!!
First things first, we have a race weekend chat. Please join it to stay up to date on all details throughout the weekend.
Sign and Bracelet Making Party
Date - Friday, December 13th
Time - 6:30PM
Location - RSVP in Circle to see location
Notes:
BYO Snacks
BYO Sign Making Supplies (poster board, markers, etc)
We will provide bracelet making supplies!
Date - Saturday, December 14th
Time - 10:00AM
Location - Margaret Hill Hunt Bridge (3118 Gulden Ln, Dallas, TX 75212)
Notes:
New Balance will be providing shoes to demo in as well as post run refreshments to help you RUN. YOUR. WAY!!!
Visiting the Expo
You should have an email from the Dallas marathon regarding expo. If you want to go with a group, there will be a group headed to the Expo after we wrap up at the shakeout run!
Race Day - Runner
Before Race Day:

Plan where you’ll park or get dropped off on race morning.
Get “throw away clothes”. Race morning is typically COLD. Throw away clothes will help you stay warm ahead of the start of the race. The Dallas Marathon will donate any clothes shed prior to the race and out on the course (hence “throw away”!!)
If you haven’t already, fill out this form if you’re running on Sunday so the City Leads can add you in our tracking app. If you can’t remember if you’ve filled it out, please take a look at this spreadsheet before duplicating your entry.
If you’re comfortable with it, share your location with Karrington on Sunday in order to have a back up option if the tracking app is down for whatever reason. DM her on Circle to get instructions on how to share location with her!!!
On Race Day:
Get into your corral prior to your corral assignment time!
Eat breakfast! Nerves may be high, but that’s not an excuse to not fuel.
Use the restroom before you get to the start line if you can. If you need to use the restroom once you’re at the starting line, there are porta potties, but get in line early as lines are always long.
Keep an eye out for the Endorphins Cheer Zone right after you pass the Dallas Aquarium (mile 11 (half) and mile 24 (full)). We will be taking photos and have a little surprise for you 🎉
