Posterior Tibial Tendonitis, Barefoot Shoes, etc
Posterior Tibial Tendonitis
- I think i had posterior tibial tendonitis, I took 6 weeks off of running, now getting back into it. but it seems to have resurfaced
- burning sensation on the inner side of my ankle/lower shin (both feet) when I run
- i feel it when I walk if it's gets worse
- any recs on what I should do or anyone i can talk to?
- should i get a gait analysis to make sure how i run is not causing this? any recs on places?
- could my shoes have an impact? i have 3 diff shoes I cycle through for running.
- I went to my PCP Doc & they said see a PT + do these exercises
- I went to Spear PT and they just gave me the same exact exercises
- I searched google & got this:
- don't run
- strengthen muscles in the area
- wear orthotics to support arch
I don't want to stop running & i want to heal this as fast as possible. So just looking for any info or people I can talk to, to better understand what's causing it + how to prevent it + start running as fast as possible again
Barefoot Shoes
- i've been wearing them 70-90% of the time when I'm walking for the past 3-4 years
- Is it bad to wear barefoot shoes while walking if I'm starting to run more?
- Could these shoes lead to more injuries while running because they can exhaust the muscles, tendons, ligaments in my feet more than regular shoes?
- I wonder if this has any impact in causing injury
