Pikes Peak Marathon/Ascent
whats up everyone? just posting to see if anyone is interested in coming to the pikes peak marathon/ascent in manitou springs colorado (just outside CO Springs) on sept 16-17. it was recently rated the best marathon in the us by USA Today (see link below). along with getting to run up a 14000 foot mountain you also get to run down (giving you an excellent opportunity to crush your PR in the half) and enjoy all the local breweries and scenery manitou springs and co springs have to offer (e.g. garden of the gods). even if you don't want to run seriously, it is a great race to come to to enjoy the beautiful trail and the vibes ⚡. registration does fill up (last year it was full by july) so be sure to register soon!
I know lots of people have races lined up for the fall already and this doesn't really fit into the training schedule for those, but there are plenty of other places and trails to run around co springs so you can still get your Saturday long run in while taking in the atmosphere of the race weekend. There's also an option to just run/race the ascent and take a bus down
