NYC Marathon Stay/Hotel/Spectator Views

I am running the NYC Marathon this November as my first marathon and running for Fred’s Team to fundraise for critical cancer research!! I’m so excited but have a few questions! Where do you recommend staying? I’m coming from Boston so will definitely need to stay somewhere and for my family and friends to stay as well. My fundraiser doesn’t have the shuttle location confirmed just yet but wanted to reserve a hotel sooner rather than later 😅 also, where do you recommend spectators to stand along the race??
