Adjusting my pace goal

The only big race I have lined up is the Philly half in November. I originally told my trainer that I wanted to do a 10 min but now since I have seen more progress in the training I'm in (and my interest in running growing), is it too ambitious to try to go for 8:30-9 min pace? The race is 5 months away so I don't see it as an issue besides making sure to monitor my body. Any thoughts and hot takes are welcomed.
