Marathon Training Plan Question
Hi everyone,
I am currently training for Chicago with the Hal Higdon Novice 1 plan. I have a question about days per week running. This plan only has 4 running days per week, with 2 days rest and 1 XT. I am wondering if it is harmful to split one of the running days into 2 later on in the plan. For example right now I am doing 3, 5, 3 during the week with a long run on the weekend, but eventually it transitions to 5, 8, 5 + LR. It is difficult with my work schedule to do an 8m run during the week, would it be harmful to split this into 5, 4, 4, 5? Or even 5, 6, 2, 5? Any insight would be beneficial. Thank you so much in advance!
