Strong Glute Muscle Pain

Last week I did a track workout and halfway through I felt a really strong pain in my glute, I stopped my workout and immediately after walking was painful. It's been a week since and the pain has significantly subsided but is still there. I'm currently limping around and attempted to run on Monday but after 0.5 mile the pain was strong and I stopped. I've been trying to ice the area and taking pain relievers while also trying to rest and not use the muscles as much as possible. Is there anything else I should be doing and when should I be concerned?
