Help with adjusting plan during peak training

Hi! I wanted to ask for help as I will be heading on safari from Sep 30-Oct 11, and will not be able to run (no treadmill and it is not safe) during that time period but it is at peak training prior to NY Marathon on Nov 5. Any advice for how to adjust training? Should I focus only on cross training (there are pools in some locations) and strength training? How will that impact my race? Any advice would be super helpful as I try to plan accordingly ahead of the trip and after. Thank you!
