Alcohol and running performance
Has anyone found giving up drinking has significantly improved performance and mindset?
I am a casual drinker maybe a few drinks a month tops normally but I did just get back from a bachelorette in NOLA where I drank more in one weekend then I do in a month. Between sleep deprivation, improper nutrition, and alcohol I literally had to DRAG myself out for my first run in 6 days and TBH it was super slow and discouraging.
I am wondering if I should abstain until my half in October or if I am overthinking it. Again, this weekend was a rare event but I feel like I took so many steps back in progress from a week off and all the junk I put in my body.
