new england foliage bike ride sunday oct 1
what is up all you lovely and beautiful people. its now once again that time of year to pull the flannels from the closet, cozy up by the fireplace and sip your hot chocolate. but what better way to celebrate the start of october than a long bike ride to enjoy the stunning colors of new england foliage. i just created this route for sunday. usual spot by the whitney at 7 am. bring two wheels and a willingness to be amazed. honestly we wont move that quick (ask @Matthew Picard-Fraser how slow i go up hills) but we WILL stop for food and vibe check at our favorite blackbird cafe. you can think of it as just a jaunt on a bike. total mileage is probably closer to 60 as strava doesnt know about some secret shortcuts. highlights include following the charles to waltham, the mass central rail trail, the bruce freeman rail trail, the minuteman (rail) trail, the narrow gauge rail trail, and the great brook farm state park. you don’t want to miss this! skip the cycling kit and wear your favorite flannel 🍂
