Never ran a marathon / selected for Tokyo

Hi! I’ve never ran a marathon but have done two half marathons. Like most people, I still sign up for the lottery of the marathons as I definitely want to run one soon. I got selected for Tokyo. I’m nervous about running my first one so far from home/ away from family. Would you run your first marathon in a different country? Any advice for what to do and starting out training?
