Soreness
Hi! Yesterday I ran a long ish run of 8 miles and after I experienced the worst leg pain I’ve ever had. I literally couldn’t walk. The rest of the day I just took it easy and rolled/stretched throughout the day. This morning I found I still had this soreness in my thighs and shins, and I skipped my morning run.
I have been increasing my miles every week I’m now averaging around 30 so I think my body is still getting used to it. I also added in a weight training session this week so I think my soreness is from that because I tend to neglect weight training , so when I do it I have pain.
I’m not sure if this afternoon I should do an easy recovery run … or something like cycling on stationary bike to recover. I also would add in some abdominal exercises and stretches. Or is it best to just take a complete rest day? What do you think I should do , because I don’t want to injure my self and mess up my running plans for this week. Thank you!
