Community Vote #20 - Year Long Training Support

In community vote #20 we asked members for input and feedback on how to support Endorphins and everyones running goals in 2024. A ton of members from across our global community have been asking for a year long coaching / training program and this vote was the first step in that direction.

The results of this vote are clear that a year long training program is something the group wants. Transparently - I am unsure how we will make this come to life. It is a behemoth project and will require a ton of planning, creativity, and community support in order to bring to life. With that in mind, we will continue to do our best to support you and I will keep everyone up to date on developments on this front.

Context

Today - we have a marathon training group that is supporting over 300 of you and your marathon training goals. We used community input and feedback to create this program. Now we are in week 17 of training and everyone is killing their goals and crushing 26.2 miles!

As we enter 2024 - it is apparent that members of the community are seeking this same support for races all throughout the year. Not just the fall marathons. With this in mind, and in true Endorphins fashion. Instead of us building a program and offering it to the community… we used community vote #20 to ask the group how we can create a year long version of the marathon program that supports everyone and all of our wildest running dreams and goals. It is obviously no small task.


Here are the results:

Question 1:

Creating training plans for different race distances poses many challenges. We will have people training for all different types of races, ranging from the mile to 100 mile ultra marathons. Being able to support all distances is 100% possible but will be complicated. I love a good challenge lol. We will definitely be coming to the community for input on how to do this in the most effective way possible!

Question 2:

I love this. I think that weekly workouts for when members are not training for a specific races is super important for maintenance, consistency, and base building. Having a duel track program that supports people racing and just vibing comes with intricacies but is def doable. It ultimately allows anyone in Endorphins to participate which preaches inclusivity!

Question 3:

Strength training is a fundamental part of becoming a stronger and faster runner. Being able to support this in a year long program would be amazing. Seems like over 75% of the group would tend to agree. The challenges here are that it is difficult to create a one size fits all strength program. It is certainly possible. The community has amazing resources from within that may be able to help here.

Question 4:

I love to see so many people already cooking in the kitchennnnn. I think nutrition is extremely important and including this in the curriculum would be amazing.


Question 5:

Having a live component is almost essential to building a comprehensive and all encompassing program. Being able to offer a live feedback loop is something I believe we can include in this training program if we do end up bringing it to life!

Question 6:

Seems like a majority of people are down for this. Now we just need to build it lol.
