Patellar Tendon Strain

I was wondering if anyone who has strained there patellar tendon in there knee was able to get back to running within a few weeks. I pulled it 2 weeks ago and havent run since. I am running the new york marathon but struggling to expect the fact that I my not be running since the strain is still pretty intense. Wondering how long other took to recover.
