Post Race Shin Splits
Hey all! I ran the Chicago Marathon and definitely pushed my luck on some shin splints. I had them the last three weeks leading up to the marathon. Once I warmed up, about 1-2 miles in, the pain subsided and I could run well. After running, my shin would hurt pretty bad just walking around or going up and down the stairs. I haven’t run since the marathon, taking time off to let it heal but doing some cross training in there. My job is fairly active so I’ve still been on my feet walking around quite a bit. My question is when is a good time to start trying to run again? I don’t want to start too soon and push things, but I haven’t had pain walking around lately. Thanks!
